Panama and Dubai, so far, will have the longest nonstop flight in the world, and will be performed by Emirates Airlines (17 hours 35 minutes in the westbound) to Panama.

Panama became the first country in Central America with direct flights from Dubai.

With the inauguration of direct flights between Panama and Dubai just around the corner, and the idea that the distance of 13,821 kilometers between the two destinations, is easily overcome if the same commercial language is spoken. This is the reason why dubaití government representatives visited Panama to build new bridges.

Panama and Dubai: New Record for having the longest flight in the world

The Emirates airline will operate direct flight the longest in the world, connecting Panama City and Dubai, starting next February 1.

The flight will travel 13,821 kilometers in 17 hours and 35 minutes, lasting more time than the one between Sydney (Australia) and Dallas (United States), the Australian airline Qantas Airways, which is,  so far, the longest direct path of the world.

The aircraft, a Boeing design 777-200RL 3-8 First Class, has capacity of 42 seats in business class and 216 in economy class. It can carry up to 15 tons of cargo from UAE and 266 seats available to you.

“This connection is a great achievement for our country and will benefit all Latin Americans”, said Panama’s consul in Dubai, Eduardo Fonseca, referring to this initiative, which will make their first destination country in Central America with direct flight from Emirates.

He added that the flight between Panama and Dubai will be “the rapprochement between two widely separated regions and high growth”, such as Central America and Middle East, and explained that “expand trade and cultural networks” between Panama and Dubai.

Panama will benefit as it is a more successful door for the country, as it consolidates at #3 in tourism development.

This project was tabled last November during the visit of the Vice President of Panama, Isabel De Saint Malo de Alvarado, to Emirates, where she met with executives of the airline.

Saint Malo said the new route between Panama and Dubai should be “the efforts of a number of diplomatic missions that have chosen Panama” and stressed the importance of the arrival of the flight to the creation of “new opportunities” for Latin America, according UAE news agency Wam reported.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Dubai, welcomed the project and said he was “very pleased that Emirates can offer its passengers a direct flight between two leading countries in sectors such as logistics and trade”.

It is planned that the first flight, Emirates EK251, will operate the February 1, 2016: Dubai will depart at 8:05 and arrive in Panama City at 16:40, a route that will be repeated daily.

The return flight, the EK252, also daily, will take off from Tocumen International Airport at 22:10 (local time) to arrive at Emirates at 22:55 the next day.
